Google Page Rank Update and How IGTB Achieved PR4
It's that time again.. That time when Google updates the PageRank of countless websites, and the site owners grow excited to see if they have been ranked higher. And needless to say, there's a whole lot of talk about it all.
During this update, IGTB has been ranked a step higher on the ladder- PR4.
There is no secret to how I achieved this (at least none that I haven't mentioned before):
Create lots of unique, quality content.
This is the most common tip I give out, not because it's common sense or because everyone else says it too, but because it works.
If you want your blog to rank well in search engines, you need to provide lots of unique, quality content that people will find useful, is keyword-rich, and is relevant to your blog as a whole. The more you have, the better.
Update regularly.
I'm not saying it's necessary to post five times a day, every day, but it's important to keep your blog up to date. When calculating PageRank, Google's system cuts out the older, out-of-date websites (not completely, but they tend to rank lower) and award higher status to those that are more current.
Interlink your posts.
By linking to other relevant posts on your blog, you are not only providing a link for your readers to read some older content and explore your blog further, but you are also making it easier for search engines to explore everything you have to offer.
Creating a short "related posts" list at the end of each blog entry is a common way to do this. (You WordPress users can use this plugin.)
Link to other relevant websites.
Spread that link love.. but be picky about what you link to. Make sure it is relevant to your blog and something your readers can benefit from. Google loves links to great content.
Make friends with other bloggers who will link to you.
While it could be helpful to buy links from other websites, a blogger's true power lies in his or her network of friends. The more people linking to you, the better. The best way to achieve this is by creating quality content (see above). Lots of bloggers are willing to link to something they enjoyed reading and/or find to be helpful, so if it's links you're looking for, take some time to create something great.
Simple enough, right?
You may already include some or all of these actions in your blogging routine. (If you are, good for you!) They are fairly simple things that can be done quickly (with the exception of content- sometimes it's not so easy to write).
And that brings us to my final tip:
Keep at it.
High rank comes with time and effort. (As you can see, I'm still working on this.) You can't sit back and do very little, and expect great rewards. A high ranking website must be constantly expanding and improving, and allowed enough time for the content to mature. Always remember- Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is your PageRank.

Good tips on gaining the Big G's Page Ranking. I am considering following some of this advice and hope to get even at least a PR1 for now I have a PR0 as my blog is still new and needs sometime and effort to make it better. Your comment is most welcome as you may have a lot of experience in blogging. Thanks.
