If You Could Turn Back Time...

If you could go back in time to when you first started blogging and chat with the younger, less experienced you, what would you tell yourself?

I'll share my answer in the next post. But first, I'd like to hear yours.

I would tell myself to just stick to having one blog because it is easier to manage. Plus, having more than one blog, AND a demanding and sometimes stressful full-time job is not something I'd like to do "forever".

LOL.

@Pelf ~ Oh yeah, that can be quite the workload! Like you, I created several blogs, not realizing how hard it is to keep up with it all, along with daily life activities. It can be awfully frustrating at times, but other times, it feels like it's worth it.

I'd tell myself that it's going to turn out to be more work than expected because you'll get involved in a wonderful community. Be prepared.

I've only been a blogger since May this year... so I'm still learning the ropes to some degree.

I just wanted to say Kudos to everyone who has maintained several blogs! I work with a team, and we can still go a week without posting... time just flys.

One of my concerns was that we cover various topics on our blog, and I had started to wonder if we should have various blogspots - these comments make me feel better about just having the one blog.

I look forward to reading your next post Raivyn.

I would tell myself not to think that blogging is such a big deal (even tho it is)
and not to think that I am not such a big deal (even tho I am); then I can be myself. Treat each blog post with passion, sincerity with a little creativity and humor thrown in now and then and you will survive.

The best thing that happened for my blogging was learning about building Squidoo lenses. I treat each of my lenses as mini-blogs. I sent a person new to Squidoo to visit my lenses. Her response was
"Wow, that's awesome. They're sorta like blogging, right?" WooHoo! Success.

I also wish that Twitter had been around when I first started. The best thing that
Twitter has done for me, besides introducing me to some really interesting people, is to learn to say what I mean in a shorter time. As Dr. Seuss said, "So the writer who breeds more words than he needs, is making a chore for the reader who reads."
Dr. Seuss would so have loved Twitter.

1)I'd tell myself to start with the niche blog and then move to the "fun" blog. Wasted a lot of time just writing

2)Implore myself to keep a sane posting schedule. When I first started I updated 3,4, sometimes 5 times a day and readers began to expect it. When I couldn't deliver many left.
